We offer the option to download some of the datasets produced by the IABIN-DGF project, in particular the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) derived data produced by EROS for all the Central American countries, and some Caribbean islands. For obtaining other datasets produced by IABIN-DGF partner agencies for the project please contact these agencies directly or visit their geoservers.
The SRTM is a joint project between the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and NASA to produce topographic data for 80% of the Earth's land surface. Elevation points at 1 arc seconds (approx. 30 meters) were produced. This data is of limited distribution, and the information is available to the public at 90-meter resolution.More information on http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/srtm/
Under the agreement with NGA, EROS can release all the SRTM derivative products to the public, but can't release the source data. So far EROS has developed the following digital derivative products: hill shade, slope,aspect, watersheds, and streamlines for the following countries:
